Kevin MacTaggert is also known as the mutant villain, Proteus.
History[]
When Proteus was just a boy, his parents (Moira MacTaggert and Joseph MacTaggert) divorced, with Joseph neglecting his son. After his mutant powers emerged, Moira kept Proteus locked in a special cell on Muir Island. Eventually, he escaped and began to look for his dad, believing his mother never gave him a chance. Shortly after his escape, Proteus fought some of the X-Men but quickly defeated them, leaving Wolverine temporarily psychologically scarred. Proteus later found and confronted his father but he was again stopped by the X-Men. Professor X later used his psychic powers to calm down the young mutant and so he was placed back into his cell.
