The Inner Circle Club are a group of high society members who secretly plot to rule the world.
History[]
Formed during the Victorian era, the Inner Circle Club has been running since then, branching out into the U.S. as well. The current line-up was first seen when the Phoenix Force flew into space and Emma Frost received a psychic image of it. Later, when the Phoenix and Jean Grey became mentally unstable, the club sent Mastermind to lure her in. Under the illusion that she was a Victorian housewife and Mastermind was her fiancé, Jean/Phoenix attacked the X-Men when they came to rescue her. The group suffered a minor power fluctuation when Mastermind took control of the group from Sebastian Shaw. Wolverine managed to get through to Jean, angering the Phoenix so much that it turned into the 'Dark Phoenix'. The Inner Circle Club were promptly attacked and defeated by the X-Men and Phoenix.
